As soon as the screen goes white for the
Infogrames logo press Up, Down, Triangle,
Circle, Up, Down, Triangle, then Circle. Once
lock of appears on the screen press the
following for extra cheats. The lock off cheat
will let you select the Arcade Medium and Hard
courses without having to complete the previous
courses.

Cheat:How to use it:
Unlimited TimePress and hold Left + L1 to get
infinite time on Arcade mode The race continues
even if the checkpoints are not crossed before
time expires, so you should have no trouble
going round backwards and crashing into the
other drivers for a laugh.
Narrow TracksPress and hold Left + L2. The
Arcade tracks are now narrower as confirmed by
the 'Narrow Tracks Loading' message before a
race. These tracks are usually earned by
completing the Arcade Hard courses when the
difficulty level is set on Ace. You will need
sharp eyes indeed to spot the slight difference
between them and the normal tracks, but it is
there.

JeepPress and hold Left + R1. A small Jeep will
replace the Peugeot 106 Maxi (see below for
details of the jeep's performance). This cheat
also activates the secret Rollercoaster track.
Restart RacePress and hold Left + R2 to allow an
Arcade mode race to be restarted. This
effectively gives you infinite continues which
should help when the computer-controlled bandits
run you off the road five yards from the finish
line.

Debug ModePress Left then Right. Game debug
information will be displayed. Press Start to
access a 'Memory' option that displays more
information. Quite how useful this can be is a
mystery. Unless, of course, you happen to have
programmed the game

All CheatsIf you want the first four cheats
active at the same time, simultaneously press
and hold Left + L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 when the 'Lock
Off' message appears.

Toyota CelicaYes, it is in there, but there's no
easy way to get it. You have to complete Arcade
and Championship on Pro level, coming first in
each. Now use same car on first Arcade track
(Corsica) in Time Trial and set a lap record
under 1 minute. The barrier on the left after
the start should disappear drive down the lane
to obtain the Celica.

Rollercoaster TrackTo get this stomach-churning
course, simply activate the cheat for the Jeep,
then select the 'Sweden 1' Championship track in
Time Trial mode. The screen should say it's
loading the '????' stages to indicate you've
accessed the secret circuit.
The track itself is a real humdinger. You can
put your foot down at the start as the two bends
you come to are very slight, but as soon as
you're on the viaduct, hit the brakes and slow
right down. The reason for doing this is that
the small bumps following it are extremely
deadly - even a fraction of excessive speed can
send you spinning, or worse make you crash into
the invisible barrier that seems to cover the
top half of the screen.


When you're past this bit you can really put
your foot down. Come out of the next hard left
corner at high speed and head down the dip.
Don't go too fast, though, as there's a sharp
right turn as you get to the tunnel. Cruise
round the selection of corners and head up the
steep hill with the hammer down - avoid hitting
the sides or you'll stall the engine and be
dragged to the bottom again. Be wary of losing
control on your way down this mother of all
drops, as you'll be reaching speeds of 270 kph
or more - we're talking terminal wipe-out if you
screw up.

Following this there's an even bigger hill for
you drive up, and going down the other side is
no picnic as there are many lethal corners to
negotiate. When you're past this nightmare
there's only a small dip and right bend to
negotiate as you head for the finish line,
looking a bit green.

you will see it mentioned in the other cheat entries
for this game. After you have downloaded this file and
unzipped it extract "config.dat" to all the folders you
want to unlock. I know the other entries say you must
save it into your game directory and then type the cheats
in at the main menu, this is crap I have tried it and it
does not work do as I have told you.
If you still did not unlock the tracks or cars you wanted
extract the file "config.dat" into every single Need for
Speed: High Stakes folder.
Now load the game and have fun, just watch out it may reset
your settings for the game. If you enter Single Player
Arcade and your name is "Prozac" you have unlocked all
the cars and tracks in the game. Enjoy!!!!!!

Never begin to accelerate at before the race begins.
When the last red light is about to go off, then only
accelerate and you will get acceleration just as the
computer cars do.

Truly worthwhile shortcuts are few and far between.
If winning is your priority, spend your time perfecting
racing lines on the track and stay clear of reckless
opponents.

It takes some time to get in the distinctive Need for Speed
groove. This is especially important for multiplayer games.
You may leave the game overnight after a long and successful
stint only to come back in the morning and play like a rookie.
Play the game for at least half an hour before attempting any
multiplayer High Stakes duel, where losing the game means
losing your car.

Successful High Stakes cornering is a specialized discipline.
You really shouldn't worry about slowing well in advance of a
turn.
Instead, go in fairly hot, hit the brakes with extreme force for
just a moment or two while you begin to crank the wheel, and get
right back on throttle again and power out.

High Stakes cars respond well to torque. In other words, really
work that gearshift to keep engine RPM in the optimum range--just
over the redline. If you select an automatic tranny you will feel
the ignominy of last place.

Take a car with good grip and snappy handling over a high-speed
monster any day. Of course, a top-of-the-line McLaren with full
upgrades is always preferable to a stock Firebird.
But if money is an issue, you can feel safe with a nicely upgraded

Aquatica
1. After the initially left, right, right, right turns, now
during the next long and gradual left turn, there is a
shortcut entrance in the right wall. Upon exiting the
shortcut, turn right.


2. Right before you go through the tunnel that takes you
back onto the boardwalk, you can go off the road to the
left and go over the tunnel, and land back on the track
on the other side. It doesn't really save any time, but
if it's a choice between going around and slamming into
the side of the tunnel, go around.


Atlantica:
1. After driving past that "Electronic Arts" landmark
(at roughly half way into a lap), take the left path,
then right. You'll immediately see a shortcut entrance
in the right wall. Upon exiting the shortcut, you'll
need to turn right.


Country Woods
1. (Backwards) There is one difficult left hairpin
turn after all those 90 degrees sharp turns (at about
half way into a lap). Instead of making that hairpin
turn, do this: A few seconds before approaching that
hairpin turn, you can make a sharp left turn (with the
help of your handbrake) and drop to the lower level.
While still in the mid-air, continuously press that
L1 reset button. You'll immediately recover from that
crash landing and "skip" that hairpin turn. This saves
you at least 3 seconds. One other trick on this track:
there is one big and high jump at the beginning of this
backward track (your car hitting the roof of the tunnel).
Once landed, keep straight and accelerate all the way till
you hit hard at the wall. When you crash, immediately
press the L1 reset button to continue. This way you don't
have slow down to make that 90 degree turn and can easily
gain 2+ seconds.

Empire City
1. There are light poles on your LEFT side when you
just pass the start/finish line. Immediately before
the 4th light pole, you'll find a shortcut entrance.
After exiting the shortcut, go STRAIGHT. There is a
wall in front of you but a little bit to your left is
another shortcut entrance. Upon exiting this shortcut,
turn right.


2. Immediately after the second SET of concrete pillars
(when near the end of a lap), you will easily see a
"fake wall" on your right side. Drive through it and
you'll drop to the lower level. This saves you 2 to 3
seconds.


Redrock Ridge
1. About half way into a lap, you'll have to make a
difficult left hairpin turn. There is an alternative
left turn immediately before that hairpin turn.


Rocky Pass
1. Where you see the falling-rock road sign, right
past that sign, there is a small and short cave tunnel
off-road to you right. Driving through it instead of
making that sharp right turn on the road will save you
some time.

There is a shortcut in the Country Woods track that can
save 18 seconds on your time. It is located where the
fence ends near a lot of trees।

Atlantica shortcut:

When you are at the split roads, stay to the right. A wooden
passage will be visiable at the second split. Use the hand
brake and turn into it. Then drive straight. You then have to
go left and then straight। After that, turn right.


More distance between the police:
---------------------------------
After the police are on your tail, flip a U-turn by pressing
[Space] (E-Brake) so you are heading right for them. Once you
pass them, they will also turn around. Flip another U-turn and
quickly accelerate. Flipping the U-turn takes the police more
time, and will give you a couple more seconds to get ahead of
them.

How to get the BF injection:

This is the rarest car in the game.. there is only one, it is the car that
joey leone is working on whenever you meet him, to get it first complete
all the missions then go to the car park near the your garage in the first
island. It will be there.

Easy wins with a police car:
----------------------------
Choose any track and set it to eight laps. Do not chase after the cars. Instead, go
backwards until you find a good narrow road and set a spike strip on one side of
the road. Then, turn sideways on the other side and wait until someone appears. If
they crash into you, turn on your siren; if they go over the spike strip, get as
close to him as possible to arrest them. Repeat this until all of them are arrested.
Note: If the road is not narrow enough, they can get around you.

Catch person easily:
--------------------
Note: This works well when using the Pursuit Elino. If you want to catch a person in
a car, use this three step process. First, do not turn on the siren. Second, catch up
and get to the side of the car that you want to give a ticket to. Finally, smash into
them and turn on the siren. This should put them into the wall and stop them by
putting your car like the top of a "T" to the other car. Note: If you have the siren
on earlier than the third step, then the opponent will drive faster and it is more
difficult.

Transforming stone:
-------------------
Select the Mercedes SL 600 and the Hometown track. Enable the gofast code and turn
on the "Mirror" option. Drive in the town and change the camera to the inside view.
When riding on the left side, you will see only gray stone. At an open place where
you can park cars you will see a full path of plants in the rearview mirror.
When driving on it, some stone returns to gray stone, some do not.

More distance between the police:
---------------------------------
After the police are on your tail, flip a U-turn by pressing [Space] (E-Brake) so
you are heading right for them. Once you pass them, they will also turn around.
Flip another U-turn and quickly accelerate. Flipping the U-turn takes the police
more time, and will give you a couple more seconds to get ahead of them.

REMOVE INVISABLE WALLS

Start the race on either the Mediterraneo or the
Mystic Peaks track with the McLaren F1 in Simulation
Mode. At any time during the race, drive in reverse,
keep your horn blaring and hit any at moveable object
(not a sign) at about 60 MPH. Now the cheat is
enabled. To use the cheat you must drive over 80 MPH
and hit any guard rail, bridge, etc. You will fly off
track.
TILT CHEAT
----------
Select the FZR2000 as your car and drive using manual
transmission. At the beginning of the race speed up to
50-60 MPH. When you reach this speed shift to neutral
for one second then to reverse for one second without
hitting the gas key. Now hold down gas, your car will
be tilted forward for about 15 seconds, this is really
wierd!
INVERTED LOTUS GT1
------------------
Select the Lotus GT1 as your car and drive with
automatic transmission with Arcade style racing. While
racing in any course, once you reach the speed of 193
MPH (311 KM/H) quickly hit down shift twice, making
your car go reverse. Your car will point straight up
into the air for the rest of the race, even while you
shift back to forward.
OVER-HEAD CAMERA

now work with AWD and FWD cars.

Wining an outrun:

If you are in front of an opponent but cannot seem to lose him, head toward the
center of the city ( the area that has the five fountains ). Once there, weave
through the fountains. Your opponent will most likely crash into one of the
fountains, giving you an easy win. Note: Practice going through the fountains
first before you attempt an outrun so you do not lose your money. It is easier
to do this in an SUV because it will not reach a high speed before you reach the
fountains.
Easy style points:
------------------
To do this, you will need at least level 1 hydraulics. Drive up against a wall
and activate your hydraulics. Then, press the gas and stay up against the wall.
You may need to turn sometimes to keep it straight. You should start to get
points on the right side of your screen.

Drag overtake.
--------------
If getting last in drags? No problem if you follow this cheat:
1. Make sure it is straight no cars or anything that can make you totaled.
2. Draft with your opponents.
3. Turn left or right.
4. Use your NOS to overtake 'em.
5. Block them.
6. They will bump you to give you some boost.
7. They will go slower.
8. Use your NOS to lose them.
9. WE WON! yay! woohoo!
Easy drift points.
------------------
Some of the downhill drift races have houses with looping drive ways that you
can drive in. Drifting in these driveways gets a lot more points than on the
street because you are so far off the road and are not hitting a wall.
Go into Quick Race mode and select the Subaru Impreza with all extreme or level 3
performance parts. You may style the visual as desired, Then, choose Drift Track
6 and 10 laps with easy opponents. Drive through the middle of the track. When
you are just before a corner, press the handbrake. Release it after you have
slightly slid. Your car will soon almost spin and will drift through easily.
Continue through the rest of the track by swerving on the straights and using
the handbrake properly on the corners. You can get about 50,000 to 500,000
drift points at the end of the race.
Finding hidden shops.
---------------------
Look at road signs around the city. They often have colored shapes (yellow
triangles, etc.) to guide the way to the shops. Also, look for street-lights
casting a colored glow. This indicates that there is a shop very close.
Finding more races:
-------------------
If you cannot find any more races on your map, then you need to find all the
hidden shops in the city. After you find all the shops, you will be asked to
be on another DVD cover. Follow the star to get to the next level.
Get bank for races:
-------------------
There are five stages, and as you complete each of them you can go back and
repeat the races again. You may even find that there are some races you missed.
These are the ones that you want to race. When you go to these, you are not
supposed to get anything for them but you can change that. To access these
races, go to your garage, then your world map, and select a race. When the
race begins, pause game play and restart the race. Notice that there is an
option to return to world map, however after you restart it will not be there.
You can now race and get bank for it.

Do not, repeat, do not, brake while in the midst of a turn,
particularly when driving older automobiles. The EA version
of an antique Porsche has a tendency, and probably rightly
so, to seriously rock your world if you do, sending you into
a drift from which you may not recover. Instead, brake early,
turn smoothly, and accelerate on the exit.
There's no better way of ridding oneself of an annoying police
officer than by nudging him into a passing motorist or solid
roadside object.
Alternate routes are not always shortcuts. If you find yourself
consistently slow on a given course, check out all the routes
available to you before resorting to a different setup.
Go with the "front bumper" camera for the best results.
Here, the program doesn't have to pump out cockpit and driver

Yes the cheat is available here, in this track.
Start the race and now when you drive just about 600m or a little more may
be there will be a short cut on your left side, go to that way, but carefuly
drive there, that is a long and a little difficult way to drive. When you
exits that short cut and enters the main road just a few meters away your
car enters in a factory area, big terbines on your right and left and big
pipe on your right and left just on the end of the factory there is a right
turn and a water tank is on your right, now this location is the way to enter
the space, just between the factory and the right turn of the road, there are
two outyards on your right and left, when going away from the factory enter
the right outyard and hit the front wall with the car.......oooops your car
doesn't crashed, and you are flying, now enjoy the flight in need for speed 5.
but when you go to the road and you sea that your car is below the road level
so don't enter the road your car will hang in the air, but when you are ab!
ove the road level go to enter the road and yes its just like that you are
landing from a jump, and you will enjoy also the landing of your car.

While in the race you are driving very fast and unluckely you hits any thing
on the track or side walls or stones and you are axpecting the car to fly and
fall on road upside down, and you know that that will damage the car a lot.
now you can reduce your damage and lose of the dollors...how....just press
the key " R " when your car hits some thing, it will reset your car on the
road. Remember press "R" before your car fall down on the road. and yes just
send some of the dollors for me which you saved by my advice. ok

In Schwarzwald at the oppsite side of the enterence of the shed like
tunnel in forward track when you
try to hit the wall of the shed on the right side of the tunnel you

In Monte Carlo Circuit 4 at the ending 'u' turn when you try to hit
the fence near the fountain on either
side of the track you will get out of the track into the small portion
which makes the track a 'u' turn.

In This game there is no simple way to complete the game, however if you
use these simple hints it will be easier.
Car Selection:

ALWAYS use the car compare tool, if the scores are tied then look at the
weight (A slightly lighter car is slightly faster) under the Showcase button.
NEVER use the 550A Spyder as it is worse than the 911S Coupe, and can't be
upgraded like the normal cars can.

Buy used cars, repair them and sell them for 9999999 Credits.
The buyers then buy it off you for their highest price and you
will make a profit (around 2000 Credits or 750,000 Credits if you
buy a 935 Moby Dick and sell it in the year 2000) as the money they
pay always covers the cost of the car and the repair.
If you plan on racing a car you bought second-hand then upgrade it
BEFORE you repair it, otherwise you repair a part that you subsequently
replace.

There are literally thousands of cars and tools available for download,
my current favourite is a tool that lets you go backwards and Forwards
in time, make every Porsche in the game available to be bought in the
new cars menu (up to your current year), increase the amount of cars
for sale in the used cars menu and increase the money in your account
by 50,000 Credits every time you press one of the buttons.

Then at the evolution mode go to the garage and select a car.
then fo to parts and buy new parts which are expensive but can
add speed. (Eg.For standard Flywheel you can buy Superlight
flywheel which adds about 15 hp of power). in this way you can
get more power and speed. after buying all of that things come
back and go to car setup and replace the parts as in the example
above and replace other many more parts in the same way which
will add a lot of speed.

More Money in Evolution Mode:

Buy a new expensive car (like a 'Moby-Dick', GT1 or other race-class car)
and sell it for more than you bought it. If you overprice the car too much,
you will never get offered the exact amount. If it is reasonably overpriced,
you get the exact amount immediately. The more expensive the car, the more
you can overprice it. You can only make about one thousand points from a cheap
car, but with a car like the 'Moby-Dick' you can make about 13 000!
Winning Formula:

Don't believe everything you read in the Cheats section of this Database.
Check out the brilliant PC-Walkthrough of NFS Porsche 2000, which gives
detailed tips on handling, tracks and car parts. Some versions of Porsche
Unleashed are the same as Porsche 2000.
Slow and Steady wins the race - usually, rushing past your opponents gives
you a few wonderful moments in 1st place, but you soon get beaten. Slow down
when you think you might crash, even if someone is catching up to you. CAUTION
is the keyword!
Not every detour is a shortcut. Often, the most direct-looking route has many
tight corners, so plot your route before you race.
Although automatic is easier, manual can push higher revs and more speed out of
the car. Also, if you find you did not brake hard enough for a corner, you can
shift up to a lower gear to help slow the car while staying in control (not full
control, but better than using brakes or the handbrake).

First make a backup of whatever you may change!!!
Go to:
1 Gamedata
2 Simulation
3 AIcardata
Copy 356.ais outside its folder. Then rename it to 356a.ais.
Copy the renamed file back to the AIcardata folder.
Next rename all in this manner. In short you give all cars
the same characteristics as a Porsche 356.
Don't rename vssver.scc though!
In this way your racing opponents will drive very slowly,
so You can win all!!

Always leave the accceleration on big turnings.The car turns more
when doing this.
Always uninstall the weight reduction menu on the car setup menu.
This will make the car heavy and it will not fly in air

Some small things can help u to win a race:

1.Always start accelerating when it calls 1 when race starts.
2.As u know earning money is easy by repairing & selling old cars
so earn as much money u need then get best upgrades while playing
evolution mode.
3.Always keep ur gearbox the standard one which is the best.
4.Always keep twin turbo engine which is standard in golden as well
as in the mordern era
5.Always keep travel & ride height minimum & toe in & stiffness
maximum .
6.Always keep downward force 100 for both tires.
7.Always keep tire pressure 45 for both tires.
8.The above mentioned (6th & 7th)are for control so keep the best
engines for speed. But still sometimes car doesnot give optimum
performance then you can reduce downward force only to 70 or 75
9.It is not necessary to win club races to get to the next mode.
10.To get better control on turns without loosing speed leave the
accelerator while taking a turn then as soon as u think the car has
taken enough turn press the throttle.

First buy some used cars and perform an overall repair on them, then
when you sell them thier price will be high. now repeat this and you
will get more & more money and you will not have to worry about damage,
parts, etc....
